FORT LEE, N.J. — Despite its considerable Asian population, Fort Lee was missing a professional tea maker, said Megnchen Lee, who operates the "Kung Fu Tea" franchise.

Kung Fu Tea, on Lemoine Avenue, serves 70 different types of hot and cold tea with toppings and other customized options.

"Professional teamakers are very popular in Asian communities," Lee told Daily Voice. "I knew there wasn't one in Fort Lee, so I thought this would be a good spot."

Specialties include punch tea made with fruit, slush tea made with ice, yogurt tea, milk tea, and coffee tea. All are brewed every morning using ingredients imported from Taiwan, Lee said, adding that he wants his shop to become a community hangout.

"Most of the people who come in here are young and I like that," he said. "I want this to be a place where lots of people come together to grab a drink."

Kung Fu Tea is located at 2151 Lemoine Avenue.
